Eiffel Flower

Morning All.

With all the new squirty stuff Kitty has in store now, (you can see it here.) I thought it might be fun to get my mitts on some...

To make the flower, I sprayed Cosmic Shimmer Summer Twist, (a pack of three bottles of loveliness, including blue, pink and purple.) onto watercolour paper and heat set, becuase I was too impatient to wait for it to dry! I punched some flowers and screwed them up, which was quite satisfying, unwrapped them and built a flower.

The background is Hero Arts Clings - Newspaper Eiffel Tower. I've embossed it too, for added depth. Check out the Embossing Folders Section, there are loads to choose from.

I had a lot of fun trying something different...

A summery Gorjuss girl

Good Morning Everyone, Jane here today! I have been in love with the adorable Gorjuss Girls images for a few ywars now and was thrilled when Kitty took delivery of all the latest stamps. There are so many to choose from an each one is so lovely to colour in. I recently had a big colouring session lately and this little cutie was one of the images I brought to life with my Promarkers. I have coloured her in bright and summery colours for a nice fresh feel instead of the dark gothic colours on the packaging. I love how different these look when coloured in brght colours. This image is called 'Fallen' and is available here in the shop.

The papers I have used are from the Echo Park 'Hello Summer' paper pack which is available here and added my layered papers to a scalloped card base. I added some ribbon and a sentiment stamped on a tag from the Dienamics notched tag die and stamp set which is available here.  I topped the tag with a bow tied from twine and a die cut butterfly also from the set. I added some Hobby House flowers and pearls as a finishing touch. I hope you have a lovely Thursday!

Street Kids

Good Morning everyone.... today i have some mens cards to show you! Bit odd for me as i usually hate making mens cards but the new Hobby House Toppers make it soooo much easier!
They are already pre coloured and die cut ready to use straight onto your cards & projects!
These toppers are one of the 6 new designs, this one is Kenny K's Street Kids - a bargain too as they are only £1.75 for a whoel sheet! The papers i used are an old Bo Bunny Pad that i have had for while - just so happened they are perfect coodinating colours! I then added some buttons, twine & gems from my stash and ta-da two easy cards ready to go!

Don't forget, we are doing our usual giveaway on the Facebook Page, you can bag yourself a fre Memory Box Die - you gotta be in it to win it though!

Come back tomorrow for more inspiration from the girls :)

Awwww...... Pweeetttyy Colours!!!!

Today I am going to show you some fun I have had with the gorgeous new Pan Pastels and the beautiful Shanghai Nights and Tokyo Garden toppers from Kanban.

The colours are just beautiful.

I have used the Magenta pan pastel and blended this with the Turquoise using the specialist soft knives and covers.   They blend so smoothly, create very little dust and are so rich in pigment.

I then spritzed with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist as that is what I had to hand.  Kitty has similar sprays from  Dylusions which come in a variety of gorgeous colours.

Once dry I then used a selection of toppers from the Kanban collection and finished off with a few gold pearls.   Unfortunately the photo doesn't pick up the glitz from the spray but you get the idea.

I also made a matching corner bookmark.

These are very simple to do but they look lovely.

If like me, you are a bit unsure of trying new things something basic like these are a good way of playing.
This was my first go with the pan pastels and I can assure you I will be getting more.  I am looking forward to creating some beautiful sunsets with them.

I also made a very much more 'ME' card using the Shanghai Nights backing card.

Once again the lovely Tilda has been coloured with Copics.

Hope you like.

Birds of a Feather

Good morning :)

I hope you all had a great weekend. It was all go over at My Mum's Craft Shop, as Kitty celebrated the bricks and mortar store being one year old. Way to go Kitty.

I really enjoyed making today's card, as it's a little different for me... no colouring! Just delish papers from Echo Park Hello Summer, Paper Pad some doodling, and of course a Die! This set is Die-Namics Homespun Birdhouse and Stamp Set. You get absolutely loads of sentiment stamps in this set, you won't be stuck for something to say.

Right, time for a cup of tea, hope you have a great day...

Kaisercraft Tigerlily

Good Morning Everyone! Jane here today to share some makes which I put together last night using papers and die cuts from the Kaisercraft Tigerlily collection which arrived last week at My Mum's Craft Shop. I have made a special card for my Mum as it's her Birthday soon.

To make the card I cut a piece of black paper from the pack and layered a piece of gorgeous patterned butterfly paper on top, I sewed around the edges and then wrapped the layers with Ribbon before sticking them to the card base. I die cut more black paper with a Spellbinders postage stamp die and layered a square cut from text paper on top and sewed around the edges before adding to the card base with foam pads. I added some die cut Butterflies from the Collectables pack and a sentiment and then added one of the new Hobby House flowers to the centre of one of the Butterflies. I finished with more letter stickers and some gems and pearls.

There are so many die cuts in the pack I used one to stamp on and to add the sentiment to the card insert. Kitty has also taken delivery of some fabulous little Kraft boxes in the past few day and I couldn't resist decorating one with more Tigerlily papers.

To decorate the box, I layered up strips of paper and added some stitching and stuck them around the box and simply popped a Butterfly on top with a flower centre. I finished with more gems and pearls to match the card. I hope you have a lovely Thursday!

Hi everybody!!  Yes I know I am a day late, but better late than never, right??

Well today I have something totally new in store and different from everything else I usually do.

Creative peel-off designs made easy!

Ok Ok... before you run to the hills because of the words 'peel-offs' just check these out.
These are not your usual thing at all!!

These are infact sheets of black out line shapes that you place on to different papers and then build them up to make the cutest of cute images!!
Don't get scared about not knowing what to do..... they even have simple instruction booklets to help you get started.

Here is my very first attempt at this!!

I kept the card very CAS because I don't think it needed anything else.
I used twine for the fairy legs so they swing free!!
Word of warning though..... it is very tricky to start with but worth it in the end.

I then went on to make this flower in vase using the same technique.

and to finish off I started to get brave!!!  I tried to make up one of my own characters....

But you will have to wait for another day to se him because he isn't quite ready for his debut yet!!!

Anyway over in the store you will find the Fairies and friends collection which is what I have here along with an early seasonal pack aswell.  They are fantasticly priced and such a fun idea.

So what do you think??  Do you think YOU will be using 'peel-offs' again soon!!!
I know for sure I am going to be!!

Morning :)

Today I thought I'd share a little something I made for my son to give to his Dad, but you could easily change the name to fit whatever you needed.

My love of Die-Namics continues... I've used Die-Namics By the Letters, By the Letters Uppercase and Die-Namics Star Border.

The papers are from Echo Park A Boys Life. I just love all the papers in this pad, it's a brilliant selection.

And of course the little guy is La La Land Crafts Sitting Luka.

Well, it's short and sweet from me this morning. I'm aware it's Monday and the only thing you really want on a Monday morning is caffeine!

Have a great week.

Getting Splattered!

Morning :)

Have you noticed the new, splattery type products Kitty has in stock yet? Yep, I'm talking about the Alcohol Inks, the Cosmic Shimmer Dazzle Paints, the Cosmic Shimmer Misting Inks, the Cosmic Shimmer Spray Mica Pigments and the Dylusions Sprays.

If you're a bit like me, you might be a bit nervous of using these fantastic products to make the really stylish, inky things that Kitty has been making all week. So, I thought I'd use some to make an old vintagey style card look a little more aged.

I've used a Topper from The Hobby House Wee Suzi's Garden Set, inked and distressed the edges, then given her a liberal squirt of splatter spray in two colours. The papers are Glitz Design Happy Travels Paper Pad, also splattered with ink. A bit if twine and a few pearls finish her off. Oh, before I head off, just remember to:

a) cover your desk before you splatter
b) heat set the ink before you turn panels over to stick tape on the back...

Have a great weekend.

Wild Rose Studio Tilly

Good Morning Everyone! Jane here today with my usual Thursday post and this week I am sharing some projects made with some of the gorgeous new Wild Rose Studio stamps and papers which are now back in stock at My Mum's Craft Shop. I was inspired by the papers in the 'Man About Town' pack to colour 'Tilly with Gift' in shades of grey and red. She was great fun to colour in! I created a layout using three different papers from the pack and added some stitching with red thread to tie everything together.

I cut Tilly out leaving a small border and added her to the card with foam pads. I added a sentiment cut using Dienamics dies and finished with a large bow and some gems.

As I had so much fun making my card, I made a tag to match using my new Dienamics tag die. I created a similar layout to the card with more stitching and coloured 'Tilly with presents'  with my Promarkers before cutting her out and adding her to the tag with foam pads. I finished with more ribbon and some gems.

I hope you have a lovely Thursday!

Under the sea.......

Hello everyone!!  I am a little obsessed with all all things water and beach related at the moment.  There really are some gorgeous stamps, papers and embellishments out there right now and I am pleased to say My Mum's Craft Shop has lots to get the ideas flowing.   One of my favourite sets at the moment has to be the Stella Di Mare collection from Serafina.   Kitty has available in store the 6 x 6 and the A4 paper pads and also some co-ordinating 3D stickers.   The colours are beautiful, various shades of blues, pinks and purples.  They even have glitter on them, making them twinkle!!! I hope you can see that by the pictures.  They are new in store and the details will be uploaded soon but if you have any questions you can always contact the shop.
I have teamed these with the uber cute Mermaid Kaylea from Some Odd Girl Stamps and coloured her using copics in colours to match.   The sentiment ticket is by Raindrop echos for Whimsy Stamps and is from a set that I seem to use a lot!   I have then finished this off with a scrap of gauze (to resemble some fishing net), some Hobby House pearls and charms.

I hope you like and I can promise you I will be using these again and again and again!!!

Oh.... two things before I go

First up.....the MMCS challenge blog are having a DT call.  You only have a few more days left to enter but why not check it out anyway and even start entering our challenges..... New ones every Wednesday with a huge variety of sponsers!!

Party Hats

Morning Peeps :)

Red, White and Blue colour combos are all the rage right now, so I thought I'd join in all the fun and create a patriotic party invitation.

I've used the little hat stamp from the Some Odd Girl Baker Mae Stamp Set. After colouring with lashings of Copics, I've added a little Stickles Glitter Glue, in Diamond, naturally. And to finish? Die-Namics By The Letters UpperCase Dies of course!

Some Odd Tag

 Morning All :)

I've been making a few tags since the arrival of  my Die-Namics Tag You're It Stamp and Die Set! It just makes a tag so quick and easy. And there are a lot of sentiments to choose from to finish off. But in the name of using some different bits of stash, I didn't on this occasion! The sentiment here came from Some Odd Girl Sweet Thinking Mae, I think she's one of my favourites. No! Wait a minute...

The papers are My Minds Eye Miss Caroline Howdy Doody. I've added some shading on Mae's dress too. And that's it... job done!

Have a great weekend...

Some Inky Fun with Creative Expressions stamps

Good Morning Everyone! Jane here today with an altered frame I made using some of the gorgeous new Creative Expressions stamps available from My Mum's Craft Shop. The stamp set I have used is called Steampunk Flowers and is available here. I started with a light coloured wood box frame and removed the glass and took it all apart before staining it with Vintage Photo Distress ink. I kept going until I had the depth of colour I wanted sanding it down in between coats to achieve a distressed look. When I had finished staining I stamped the flower with cogs over the frame using Archival ink.

I created the picture inside the frame by blending Vintage photo distress ink onto white card and stamping around the edges with Vintage photo and Tumbled Glass inks. I stamped the sentiment with Archival ink and then put the frame back together before adding the flowers. I made these by stamping onto grunge paper and colouring them with distress inks and heating them with my heat gun to shape the petals. I added a Tim Holtz ticket on a pin holder and some Steampunk charms from my stash, some paper flowers and some Butterflies and little stick on pearls to finish.
I hope you have a lovely Thursday!

Rockin' the La La's!

Morning Peeps!

Don't you just wanna to chillax on a weekend? Looks like that's what this little guy, Luka is doing! He is, of course, Outlaw Luka from La La Land Crafts. I have a soft spot for these stamps, they always stamp beautifully and they are a lovely, thick, good quality rubber.

I've teamed him up with some papers from Echo Park A Boy's Life. And, naturally, lashing of Die-Namics! I've used Chevron Stripes and Simply Scallop Large. Job Done.

Have a wonderful Jubilee weekend. :)
