Thank You!

Happy Christmas from all at My Mum's Craft Shop!

Well, I'm a little jaded with making Christmas cards right now, but my fingers were itching and I needed to make something!

So, what comes after Christmas? Yes, I know a diet, but I was thinking more along the lines of a mountain of Thank you cards! And what better way to use up a few more of those leftover Christmas papers? I've used Echo Park Holly Jolly Christmas.

This little fairy is, of course, Faye with Flower from Wild Rose Studio. She looks lovely with glittery wings and lashing of pink. If only I could get away with wearing this get up every day...!

Well, it's short and sweet from me today, I'm sure you understand! I have a mahoosive pile of sausage rolls, mince pies, Quality Street and Cheese and Pineapple sticks to work my way through.

Have a wonderful festive season, I hope Santa fills your stocking with lots of crafty stash. :)

Is it spring yet?

Can I first take this opportunity to say a big hello to eveyone.  I am Trudie and I am new to MMCS design team.  This is my first card for this blog so please be kind!  To say I was nervous is an understatement but thrilled to be asked at the same time.

Anyway, if you are anything like me you would've been making christmas cards for what seems like forever by now.  I really needed a change and when I saw the beautiful Dreamcatcher paper pad from First Edition, I knew I just had to have it.  I teamed the papers with my favourite Simply Sassy stamp, Hippy Chick and used labels number 4 from Spellbinders Nestabilities.   I also used  a butterfly die from Marianne Designs.   I decided to keep this fairly simple with it being number 1 and just finished the card of with some pink ribbon from my stash and a small collection of flowers.

I hope you all have a wonderful christmas and a very happy new year.

See you soon

Trudie xx

Happy Scrimbo!

Well hello!

Now, don't get too excited, I know this looks like a Christmas card, but it's not. I know I've used these delish Season's Greetings Papers by Echo Park (You can get them in a 6x6 pad or a 12x12 Collection Pack with sticker sheets, which come in handy for any last minute cards you may need to whip up on Christmas Eve!!) but this is not a Christmas card.

The cutesome little (not Christmas) fairy is Nellie Snellen Sweet Eline - Flying Frog. You'll obviously notice that I've not included the frog, as I wanted to make something non (Christmassy/ ) froggy! But if you did want to make something Christmassy, there are quite a few stamp in the Nellie Snellen range that would make it very easy for you.

So, although this looks like a Christmas card, it's not. It's a fairy card, which, just happens to have a traditional colour scheme. There. Denial intact.

See you next week...

Starboy Luca

Yep, it's December! So, I thought I'd make a little something to continue my complete denial about how close we really are to Christmas now!

I've used Starboy Luca from La La Land Crafts, he has to be one of my favourites. As a little nod to the thing that we're not really talking about, I pulled some fab star paper from my Holly Jolly Christmas Paper Pad from Echo Park. The Star Border is by Die-Namics.

Well that's all from me today. But before I go, have you noticed that Kitty has started stocking the FABEROONY dies from Memory Box? These things shift like hot cakes (or mince pies in a grotto!) so best go take a looksee...!

Sweet Thinkin' Mae

Morning All.

With less than a month to go, I am now in complete denial about Christmas. So it was really easy to ignore the Christmassy stash on my desk and go for something pink and girly instead!

I've long admired Some Odd Girl Images and I thought it was about time I inked one up. This is Sweet Thinkin' Mae and she was great to colour up.

She goes perfectly with these pretty Country Drive by Echo Park papers, don't you think? I made the flowers myself with some circles of these fabby papers and the butterfly is a Die from CC Designs.

It was quite sunny outside when I made this and with the central heating belting out, I almost convinced myself it's summer. Then that mince pie caught my eye and it was back to Earth with a bump...

It's Chriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiistmas!

Ok, so it's not yet, but it's a week closer than the last time I posted here and the Christmas card tally has gone up by, wait for it... One!!

Have you seen the range of Crafters Companion Humphrey's Corner stamps available from My Mum's Craft Shop? They are adorably cute and such fun to colour up. I thought this one would look fab on a white card, so you can really focus on the cuteness. Lashings of Copics really help make it pop.

Right, can't stop for long, I have a pile of Christmas cards to make. Oh, and don't forget about the new First Edition, Dovecraft Princess Fairytale and Heltz Cuppleditch Neighbourhood Papers available in store now. Postage is just £1.75 or free on all orders over £29.99...

Have a great weekend.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas...

Is anyone else slightly concerned that Christmas is less than six weeks away?! OMG! How did that happen? When did that happen? But breathe, it's ok. I only need about forty cards. And with this one, I have approximately, well, let me see... erm, three!

I'm afraid I'm still loving the cute new Pickle stamps from Wild Rose Studio. This one is called Christmas Cuddle. Isn't it adorable? And I'm working my way through the fabby Wintry Christmas Paper Pad, also Wild Rose Studio. I love this pad, because the papers aren't really Christmassy. So, on Christmas Eve, when I'm panicking because I don't have time to make the other thirty seven Christmas cards I need, at least I'll be able to console myself with the fact I'll still be able to play with these papers, long after I'm stuffed with Christmas pud...

Have a great weekend!

Sparkle Creations: Relaxing Charlotte

Hello my lovelies! Simonne here with a new Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps card to share with you.

I just adore this stamp - Relaxing Charlotte. What better way to relax and take a bit of "me time" by indulging in a luxurious bubble bath ... and with a glass of something bubbly, of course! Mmmmm...heaven! :)

This is also my card for the current SCRS challenge which is "White on White". I've never made a card like this before, and I must confess that I was just a teeny, tiny bit scared! Eek! I love my patterned papers, so much so that I often think how awesome it would be if I could paper a wall in a particular design. I hunted through my H-UGE paper collection but despite coming across a few papers that would have been o-kay, I couldn't find anything that really fitted, so out came my super-neglected embossing folders. The jury is out ... I'm not quite sure if I like or not ... but I can tell you that it was one of the quickest cards I've ever made! And when my mum first saw it she said it would be perfect for a hen's night invite! :)

Here's a list of supplies I used...

Thanks for dropping by!

Hugs,
Sem x

More Charlotte

Morning!

I thought I'd stop by and share a card I've made using Charlotte with Rose from Sparkle Creations. It's the first time I've used one of these fabby stamps and she was great fun to play with.

I've teamed her up with some Christmas papers. Yes, you read that right. These papers are from the Holly Jolly Christmas Pad by Echo Park. I'm a bit of a Bah Humbug when it comes to Christmas papers, so I love that this pad contains papers that I can use for other times of the year too! :)

The border strip has been created using the Open Zig Zag Border Die from Die-Namics. You need to check out this brilliant range, if you've not already. They release new dies every month and they always give a good, clean cut.

Ok, that's all from me today. I hope you have a great weekend.

Charlotte on a Country Drive

Happy Monday everyone! Simonne here with another Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps card.

Did you know that My Mum's Craft Shop is one of only a few stockists of these adorable stamps?  You can find the Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps section HERE at the MMSC store.  If there is ever a SCRS stamp that you would like but can't find listed in the MMSC store, simply send Kitty an email and she'll sort you out! :)

I used Charlotte with a Rose for this card and paired her with some yummy Echo Park Country Drive 12x12 paper - it's SO pretty!  (The green gingham paper is actually from the Sweet Summertime Collection Kit - I love that you can mix and match different ranges from EP).

I also used my Die-namics Mini Rolled Roses die.  I used the smallest die to cut out a white paper rose.  I originally made a pink rose, but the card I had was too dark and I didn't have any paler pink card, so I opted to use a pink flower under a white rose.

Here's a list of suppies I used to make this card, complete with links to the relevant product pages at My Mum's Craft Shop:

Thanks for popping by! Wishing you a fabulous crafty week!

Sparkling Daffodils

Hi everyone, Simonne here! This week I would like to share a Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps card with you.  If you've not heard of Sparkle Creations before, then you are in for a TREAT!  I simply adore all SCRS stamps and the best news ever is that My Mum's Craft Shop is now an official stockist of them!!!  Woo-hoo!

I used Daffodil Charlotte for this card and had a go at making a centre step card.  This was the first time I made one - it was so easy and I love the end result (even though it was almost impossible to photograph it well!). I followed this template by Sandy but changed the measurements to fit the image I wanted to use.

I used my Daffodil Charlotte SCRS stamp and some scraps of paper from my MME Stella & Rose 'Gertie' paper pad.

I even decorated the inside of this one (something that I never seem to have time to do, LOL!):

Here's a list of suppies I used to make this card, complete with links to the relevant product pages at My Mum's Craft Shop:

Supplies
[sentiment stamps from Whimsy Stamps]
MARKERS: Copic Ciaos
CARD: Kraft; White; Yellow
EMBELLIES: Flowers, gems, glitter glue
TOOLS: Martha Stewart 'Half Daisy' Edger Punch; Butterfly & Leaf punches

Thanks for dropping by! Hope you have a great week!

P... p... p... pick up a Penguin

... at My Mum's Craft Shop! ;)

I just love Pickle with Present, I've used him several times already. Isn't he just so cute and fluffy looking? This adorable little chap is from Wild Rose Studio and he goes perfectly with the lovely Wintry Christmas Papers, also from Wild Rose Studio. I'm really enjoying this paper pad as I've also used it for some non-Christmas projects.

Don't forget to check out the Super Stamp Sale in Store. There are CC Designs, Kraftin Kimmie, Messy Rabbit, Nellie Snellin, The Greeting Farm and Penny Black from from as little as £3.00. Go grab a bargain.

If you need a Wee (sorry couldn't help it!) or you love Sparkle Creations Stamps, you might want to check those out too, they are literally flying off the shelves.

Postage is only £1.75 or free if you spend over £30, not too difficult when you look at that little lot...
